Matthew R. A. Heiman is the Chairman of the Cyber & Privacy Working Group of the Regulatory Transparency Project. He is a member of the International and National Security Law Executive Committee practice group of the Federalist Society. Previously, Mr. Heiman was the Vice President, Corporate Secretary & Associate General Counsel at Johnson Controls. Prior to its merger with Johnson Controls, Mr. Heiman held a number of positions with Tyco International including Vice President, Chief Compliance & Audit Officer. Before Tyco, Mr. Heiman was a lawyer with the National Security Division at the U.S. Department of Justice. He was a legal advisor to the Coalition Provisional Authority in Baghdad, Iraq and practiced as a trial lawyer with the law firm of McGuireWoods. Mr. Heiman has a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Juris Doctorate degree from Indiana University. He is a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies.
