Natalie Varma

Natalie Varma currently serves as the Program Assistant for the National Security Institute. In this role, Natalie provides administrative and programmatic support across NSI’s initiatives, assists with event coordination, and contributes to the institute’s communications efforts.

Prior to joining NSI, Natalie gained valuable experience as a communications intern at the North Carolina Collaboratory and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), where she developed skills in strategic communications, public outreach, and policy analysis. These experiences helped shape her understanding of how effective communication can bridge the gap between complex policy issues and public understanding.

Natalie is from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She recently graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Public Policy and Journalism, with a specialized focus in Advertising and Public Relations, and a certificate in Health Communications. Her interdisciplinary education provides her with a unique perspective on policy communication and public engagement strategies.
