Lartease Tiffith

Lartease Tiffith is a Visiting Fellow at the National Security Institute at George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School, where he focuses on emerging technologies and national security, cybersecurity in the AI age, and protecting America’s competitive advantage in critical technologies. His research examines the intersection of artificial intelligence governance, cybersecurity threats to critical infrastructure, and US-EU digital trade relations.

Previously, Lartease served as Executive Vice President for Public Policy at the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), where he led advocacy efforts on behalf of more than 700 member companies on consumer privacy, data security, global trade, and international data transfer rules. He also chaired IAB’s Public Policy Council, the marketing and media industry’s largest legislative and regulatory advisory group.

Before IAB, Lartease led Amazon’s public policy work on advertising, privacy, security, data governance, and cross-border data flows, providing counsel on global policy matters affecting product development and business strategy. During his tenure, INSIDER named him as one of the key players in politics and the tech world.

Lartease previously served as Senior Counsel to then-U.S. Senator Kamala Harris and Counsel to U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein. He began his legal career as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Roger L. Gregory on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and practiced at Kirkland & Ellis LLP, O’Melveny & Myers LLP, and the U.S. Department of Justice.

Lartease earned his B.A., J.D., and M.B.A. from Northwestern University.
