Crane Lopes is the General Counsel of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).  The mission of DARPA is to serve as the research and development organization in the Department of Defense with a primary responsibility of maintaining U.S. technological superiority over our adversaries.  Dr. Lopes provides legal services to support the DARPA mission.  He has a J.D. from the George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School, an LL.M. from the George Washington University Law School, and a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech.  Dr. Lopes is a member of the Virginia State Bar and is registered to practice at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.  He is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US).  Dr. Lopes is a member of the Senior Executive Service.
