Alex Gallo is the Executive Director of the Common Mission Project and a Principal with BMNT, which support the delivery of Hacking for Defense, a program sponsored by the National Security Innovation Network within the US Department of Defense.
Prior to this role, Alex served as a Professional Staff Member with the House Armed Services Committee, full committee policy staff. Alex’s portfolio included US policy in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific. Alex participated in the completion of five NDAAs.
From 2008-2012, Alex served as an instructor in the Department of Social Sciences at West Point and the Deputy Director of the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point. Alex began his career as a US Army officer, including a peacekeeping deployment to Kosovo and a combat tour in Iraq.
Alex also serves as a Senior Associate with the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Georgetown University.
Alex earned a B.S. from the United States Military Academy at West Point, a Master’s in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, and is a PhD candidate with Leiden University School of Governance and Global Affairs at The Hague, Netherlands.
