Alka Bhave

Alka Bhave is a respected executive and thought leader with over 25 years of experience driving innovation, excellence, and digital transformation across the government and commercial sectors. 

Alka brings executive and sr. leadership experience spanning a variety of large and mid-tier, public and private, for-profit and non-profit companies. Prior to joining Unissant, Alka was President at Fearless Solutions, LLC, a $100M digital services integrator with lines of business supporting Federal Civilian, National Security, SLED, and commercial customers. Before Fearless, Alka served as Chief Operations Officer of Riverside Research, a nonprofit organization advancing scientific research for DoW and Intelligence Community customers. As COO, Alka managed the company’s corporate operations, leading transformation in infrastructure, processes, and culture to position the company for growth. Prior to Riverside, Alka was Vice President of Performance Excellence at Perspecta (now Peraton). In that capacity, she was instrumental in developing and executing enterprise-wide strategies across a $4.3B enterprise to improve performance, quality, and operational efficiency. Her experiences prior to Perspecta include Vencore, the SI, and 12 years with Lockheed Martin Enterprise Integration Group, Lockheed Martin Space Systems, Lockheed Martin Commercial Space, and Lockheed Martin IS&GS. Alka started off her career in the Engineering Leadership Development Program as an entry level systems engineer on a large intelligence customer program.

Alka has worked on the design, development, and deployment of complex space, ground, and IT systems for numerous government agencies, including the Intelligence community and Department of War (DoW), as well as Civilian agencies including Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Her National Security experience includes satellite space and ground system engineering from both development and manufacturing as well as Advisory & Assistance (A&AS) contracts, with technical competencies including payload design, RF communications modeling & simulation, system of systems engineering, and business competencies spanning program management, Lean/Agile, and digital transformation. Alka has a proven track record of delivering results and driving driving differentiated outcomes. As a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and SAFe Agilist, she designed and implemented mission process improvements for multiple Intelligence Community customers resulting in millions of dollars of cost aversion and through one particularly impactful A&AS engagement, resulted in her customer winning the acquisition program office of the year award. 

Alka holds both a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Telecommunications from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is also a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Blackbelt, PMI PMP, and SAFe Agilist. Alka is deeply committed to K-12 STEM initiatives and building talent pipelines in tech to drive innovation. She was awarded the WashingtonExec STEM Advocate of the Year Pinnacle Award in 2019 for her leadership in creating partnerships between industry and local school systems in Loudoun and Fairfax County to support student internships and STEM programs. She currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Northern Virginia Science Center, and the INSA Space Intelligence Council.
