Boris Dyatkin is a Science, Engineering, and Technology Adviser (SETA) to the Biological Technologies office of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in Arlington, VA. He provides subject matter expertise and assists development and management of research programs for the agency’s program managers. Prior to his role supporting DARPA, he was a researcher at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, where he developed novel materials and manufacturing methods that addressed critical technology needs of the U.S. Department of Defense. Boris also conducted research at the Army Research Laboratory and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. Since 2013, through his involvement with the Materials Research Society Government Affairs Committee, he has advocated on behalf of pragmatic science policies through direct outreach, congressional visits, and policy analyses published in professional journals. Boris received his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Drexel University in 2015 and a BSE degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2009.
