Colonel Byron Owen is the Director of Intelligence for Marine Corps Forces Cyberspace Operations Command. He is a Reconnaissance Marine with tours as both a platoon commander and commanding officer at the elite 1st Force Reconnaissance Company. Colonel Owen also had the honor of commanding several intelligence and cyber units to include Combat Mission Team One, Cyberspace Warfare Task Group 1, and 3d Radio Battalion.
Colonel Owen graduated from the Naval Academy with a degree in English. He holds post-graduate degrees from the Naval War College, National War College, and the College of Information and Cyberspace. His personal decorations include the Silver Star, the Bronze Star with Valor device, and three awards of the Purple Heart.
