David Copley

David J. Copley is the Vice President of Business Development for U.S. Silica, a leading energy services company and industrial mineral provider (NYSE: SLCA). David is also an intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve and currently serves in a unit supporting Naval Special Warfare.

Prior to his current roles, David served as a strategy consultant for the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), helping both public and private sectors clients solve their most difficult strategic challenges. David’s public-sector clients included the Department of the Navy, Department of Commerce, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the Government of Puerto Rico.

Before joining BCG, David served as an intelligence officer for the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency, where he focused on Middle East issues and Counter Terrorism. David served two deployments while at DIA in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Before DIA, David served in the Bush White House as a Special Assistant in the Office of Management and Budget. David’s team worked on management policy to improve the performance and efficiency of Federal government programs across the breadth of the executive branch of government.

David is a graduate of Harvard Business School (MBA) and the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business (BS Economics).
