With the support of the Hewlett Foundation, the National Security Institute hosted “Decompiling the Government: Getting Technologists and Policymakers to Speak the Same Language.”

This happy hour networking event featured remarks by Kiran Raj, Chief Strategy Officer at Bittrex and former Deputy General Counsel at the Department of Homeland Security.

The “Decompiling the Government” event series brought together technologists and leading policymakers, lawyers, and journalists to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical cyber professionals.  NSI has hosted events in San Francisco, San Antonio, New York City, and Arlington, VA and featured speakers including: Donald Dixon, Co-founder & Managing Director of Forgepoint, Lisa Monaco, chief counterterrorism advisor to former President Barack Obama, David Shedd, former acting Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, and Matt Olsen, former Director of the National Counterterrorism Center.

NSI will also share details about its upcoming one-year Technologist Fellowship which will provide technologists from across the country the opportunity to gain the core skills necessary to effectively engage policymakers and senior staff in both the legislative and executive branches on critical issues.
