Ethan Brown is a Senior Fellow for defense studies at the Center for the Study of the Presidency & Congress in Washington D.C. Prior to this, he served 11 years in the United States Air Force as a Special Operations Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) specialist with multiple combat deployments. He is the author of the “Visual Friendlies, Tally Target” trilogy (Casemate Publishers), chronicling the evolution of air power and close air support in the Global War on Terror. His work has been featured in WarontheRocks, the Modern War Institute (West Point), Task & Purpose, the Diplomatic Courier, Wavell Room, Defense One, and several other national security platforms.
When he’s not writing on national security issues or military history, Ethan volunteers for multiple Veteran Support Organizations including the TACP Foundation, Three Rangers Foundation, and coaches multiple youth sports programs in the Pacific Northwest.
Ethan holds a Master of Project Management from Georgetown University (2021), a B.A. of International Relations from American Military University (2013) and is presently pursuing a Master of Global Security Studies from Johns Hopkins University Advanced Academic Studies.
