His career, which began in the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), expanded to include pivotal roles within the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Army, culminating in leadership positions overseeing diverse and expansive teams across U.S. Diplomatic Missions abroad.

Throughout his career, he has adeptly managed multi-million dollar budgets, tackled highly sensitive issues with discretion, and championed diversity and innovation within organizations.
As the Principal and Co-Founder of Varyag Consulting, Glenn provides strategic advisory services to U.S. and international clients, leveraging his extensive background to offer insights into foreign policy, national security, and international markets. He is also actively involved in adult training and professional education services, sharing his knowledge as a mentor and public speaker.
As an Adjunct Professor at the Institute of World Politics, Glenn develops and delivers a graduate-level curriculum focused on International Affairs and Security Studies, particularly centered on Russia and Eurasia.
