NSI and Iron Butterfly hosted a live recording of the Iron Butterfly Podcast.

The Iron Butterfly is the first podcast to spotlight real stories of women in intelligence. This podcast is dedicated to empowering and amplifying the voices of women in the national security, intelligence, and defense fields. Through candid interviews and compelling narratives, the podcast seeks to highlight their achievements, challenges, and the impact they have on shaping the future of global security and defense.

Speaker Bios:

Megan Jaffer is the Co-Founder of Iron Butterfly Media and is the host of the Iron Butterfly Podcast. She also co-founded the Amazing Women of the IC (AWIC), which is an organization that focuses on the development of professional women serving the U.S. national security mission. Megan’s background spans corporate, nonprofit, and government environments. She has successfully launched and led several nonprofits and organizations that support the national security community. Her passion is promoting the collaboration, leadership, and mentorship of women, and developing diverse communities of leaders.

 

 

Cadie Hopkins is the Co-Founder of Iron Butterfly Media and Co-Creator and Lead Producer of the Iron Butterfly Podcast. She has founded and led multiple organizations committed to the growth, mentorship, and empowerment of women across the national security community. Currently, she works at a start-up technology company serving the national security mission. Previously served as an intelligence analyst at Defense Intelligence Agency.

 

 

 

Chandra Osann is the Deputy Chief of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.  She previously served as Chief of Staff and Visualization Manager at ODNI, a Graphic Designer at the Defense Intelligence Agency, Lead Multimedia Designer at BAE Systems, Inc., and as a Graphic Artist with Boeing.  Ms. Osann holds a Bachelor of Arts in Art Studio from George Mason University.

 

 

 

Rachel Grunspan is a 20-year CIA intelligence officer with experience as a cyber threat analyst, game and simulation designer, and leader in digital innovation.  She is a member of the Senior Intelligence Service and winner of the 2007 Director of National Intelligence Galileo Award. Additionally, she is a co-author of The Computer Book, published in 2018.  Ms. Grunspan holds a Master of Science in Information Systems from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Politics from Brandeis University.
