Joseph Williams

Dr. Joseph Williams is currently a Cybersecurity Partner at Infosys Consulting. Dr. Williams was previously Seattle Director at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.  Previously, he was the ICT Sector Lead for Washington Governor Jay Inslee.  In this role, Dr. Williams’ responsibilities include collaborating on state-level cyber response planning, public policy guidance on notification and privacy, and cybersecurity workforce development.  An IEEE and IAPP member, Dr. Williams was formerly an executive with Microsoft and Sun Microsystems and recently served as the Dean of the School of Business, Government and Economics at Seattle Pacific University. His distinguished career in the tech industry, in academia and the public sector includes extensive experience working with cybersecurity, the cloud, artificial intelligence, and blockchain. Dr. Williams co-founded 4 startups, with three successful exists in the 1990s, and he has been a CIO and a CTO at various times in his career.  He has authored three books and dozens of articles related to the ICT industry. Dr. Williams has degrees from the University of California-Berkley, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the University of Texas-Austin.
