Lauren Proehl is the Manager of CenturyLink’s Threat Hunting Operations and Research (THOR) team. Lauren is an experienced incident responder and threat hunter who has helped identify and mitigate cyber adversaries in Fortune 500 networks. She has led multiple investigations ranging from data breaches to targeted attacks and continues to coordinate defenses through industry and government partnerships. Her work focuses on defining some part of the limitless unknowns in cyberspace and making cybersecurity less abstract, and more tangible. Lauren actively participates in the information security community, sitting on the CFP board for BSides Kansas City, leading at SecKC, and sitting on the advisory board for the Murray State University Cybersecurity Management Masters program. When she is not behind a screen, you can find Lauren outdoors, trying not to crash her mountain bike.
