Mary Ellen Zurko

Mary Ellen Zurko is a technical staff member at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Mez has experience in cybersecurity architectures, cybersecurity analysis, product development and prototyping, and applied research. She holds over 20 patents. She defined the field of User-Centered Security in 1996. She was security architect doing DevSecOps of one of IBM’s earliest clouds. Her previous research includes authorization policies, high assurance virtual machine monitors, the web, and PKI. She was a founding member of the National Academies’ Forum on Cyber Resilience and serves as a Distinguished Expert for NSA’s Best Scientific Cybersecurity Research Paper competition. Mez received S.B and S.M. degrees in computer science from MIT.
