NSI Brown Bag Lunch – Jamil N. Jaffer

The National Security Institute hosted a Brown Bag Lunch with Jamil N. Jaffer, the Founder and Executive Director of NSI and Assistant Professor of Law at George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School. Jamil also serves as Director of the National Security Law and Policy Program and the Cyber, Intelligence, and National Security LL.M. Program.

Mr. Jaffer has held senior roles across all three branches of government, including the White House, the Department of Justice, and Congress, where he helped draft major national security legislation such as the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act and the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act. He has also served as Senior Vice President at IronNet Cybersecurity and Chief Counsel and Senior Advisor on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Earlier in his career, he clerked for Judge Edith H. Jones, then-Judge Neil M. Gorsuch on the Tenth Circuit, and Justice Neil M. Gorsuch on the U.S. Supreme Court.

In addition to his government and academic work, Mr. Jaffer is a Venture Partner at Paladin Capital Group and serves on multiple boards and advisory groups focused on cybersecurity, critical minerals, and national security technologies. He regularly appears in the media and has published widely on intelligence, counterterrorism, and cybersecurity.
