Sarah Scully

Sarah Scully is a United States Army Captain and full-time Human Resources Manager at REEDS in Wilmington, NC, where she leads recruitment strategy and people operations to build high-performing teams. Passionate about fostering community growth, she actively engages in initiatives that drive industry development and improve quality of life for Wilmington residents.

She is the founder and host of The Women in the Arena Podcast, a production of Iron Butterfly Media Company, which amplifies the voices of women veterans and other trailblazing women worldwide making a difference in their communities. With a strong background in nonprofit leadership, Sarah focuses on veteran support, refugee resettlement, and providing critical resources to vulnerable populations. As the Operations Lead at Sisters of Service, she empowers women refugees in the U.S. by facilitating mentorship and connecting them to new opportunities for leadership and service.

Beyond her nonprofit work, Sarah is a small business owner, managing property portfolios and real estate investments in Wilmington, NC, with a focus on client relations and financial management. During her time on active duty, Sarah gained diverse leadership experience, including supporting U.S. Special Operations units and international allies in complex overseas environments. She served as an Aide-de-Camp at the General Officer level, managing executive communication with federal agencies and Congress. In her final assignment, she played a key role in recruitment and retention efforts within the Department of Defense. Sarah holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of South Carolina, Columbia, and an M.P.A. from Liberty University.
