Steve Hutchens

Steve is Senior Vice President (SVP) and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Apple Federal Credit Union. He has served as a senior executive in business and technology leadership in a variety of vertical markets including government, manufacturing, financial services, and healthcare organizations. Steve has over 40 years of experience in business, information technology, security, and consulting. He has led organizations providing consulting, risk assessments, systems development, and numerous information technology and security solutions. Steve is also the founder of the cyber track and teaches a course in Computer Crime Law at George Mason’s Scalia Law School.

Prior to joining Apple Federal Credit Union, Steve served as Senior Vice President and Chief Security Officer at Pentagon Federal Credit Union. In his previous roles, he had executive responsibility for cyber security, security regulatory and privacy compliance, and internal investigations of fraud, cyber, and physical security incidents.

Steve holds a Master’s of Business Administration and a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Averett University. In addition, he has professional certificates in Financial Crimes Investigation, Leading Operational Excellence, and Advanced Cybersecurity Management.
