Tristan Atwood Coughlin is a Director and Senior Attorney with American Airlines, where she focuses on complex cybersecurity, data protection, and privacy matters, including security compliance, information governance, security incident response, breach preparation, and regulatory investigations. She also advises on AI governance and legal strategy, supporting the responsible development and deployment of artificial intelligence across the enterprise.

Prior to joining American Airlines, Tristan worked for a global law firm and was a Fellow with the John Hay Initiative’s Intelligence Working Group, where she focused on national security law and policy.

Tristan is a Certified Information Privacy Professional through the International Association of Privacy Professionals, holds a J.D. from the George Washington University Law School where she graduated with honors, and a B.S. from Texas Christian University. Tristan recently completed the Post Graduate Program in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning: Business Applications at the McCombs School of Business, University of Texas at Austin.
